About Sweettooth Bags

Designer Focus:
Sweettooth designer and Creative Director Amy Barber began with one little bird. Her line of baby birds on bobbie pins flew out of the local boutiques. As she quickly expanded her market and the product line grew, she began selling in more cities and other states with a larger collection of hair accessories. Nearing the holiday season, one account mentioned to Amy that they were looking for a signature collection of cocktail bags for their shop. After discussing the specifics, Amy, mainly wanting to please the client, volunteered to help. Before leaving the boutique, Amy was offered 3 shopping bags full of "on sale" high-end label dresses made of organza, charmeuse and silk velvets to deconstruct for the project.

Thus was born Amy's first collection of handbags—Cocktail Hour. Continuing to evolve and change, Amy set out to create a line of accessories that reflected her eclectic aesthetic vision and began selling commercially in January 2004 with her fresh new collection called Sweettooth. Almost immediately, Sweettooth caught the eye of respected industry press WWD—Los Angeles and was featured in a large full color spread only a few months later. Having found her niche, Amy entertains shoppers, always approaching fashion with a sense of humor and a touch of irreverence.

Made in the USA:
At Sweettooth Bags, all of our accessories are designer-made, meaning we at Sweettooth have created, constructed, and dreamed up each design from scratch and in house. Our goal for you is to combine fashion with artistry. Many of our fabrics have been hand-made: layered, looped, and tied to giving each piece its own personality and that one-of-a-kind feel. We select our prints with the utmost care for their unique designs and are always on a mission for new interesting textiles and hardware to add to our mix.
